Retired Employees of San Diego County, Inc.
Honoring Yesterday. Protecting Tomorrow.

As we head into the holiday season, we would like to take a moment to reflect on our recent RESDC events and say how grateful we are to all our members, board, and volunteers for making these events shine. We also know there are many members who cannot attend, so we would like to share some highlights from these events with you.

Highlights: September Seminar,
Saving and Preparing for Long-Term Care

We had a wonderful seminar on September 19, 2018 that covered the topic of saving and preparing for Long-Term Care. Rhonda Mills of San Diego County Credit Union Investment Services welcomed and introduced the speaker, Heather Gappy, CLTC, Regional Sales Director of OneAmerica®.

Here are some flyers, produced by OneAmerica®, about Long-Term Care:

If you would like to talk to someone about comparing Long-Term Care insurance options, we recommend contacting our partner My Senior Health Plan for a free consultation at 1-800-401-2796.

Highlights: Coming Home to the County Crime Lab

The meeting and tour of the new County Crime Lab on October 4, 2018 was a hugely popular event. Check out photos from the event on our Facebook page and website.

Undersheriff Mike Barnett greeted us on behalf of Sheriff Bill Gore and gave us an update on what’s recently been happening in the Sheriff’s Office. We then heard from Sheriff’s Crime Laboratory Director Mike Grubb about the function of the Crime Lab and how the work they do supports not only the Sheriff’s jurisdiction, but also all cities in the County except San Diego, which has its own Crime Lab.

The highlight of the Coming Home event was the tour of the Major Crimes Unit, the Evidence Storage, and the Laboratory itself to see the modern technology being used by the Sheriff’s staff to solve crimes and keep us safe. If you were unable to attend, but are interested in the monthly public tour of the crime lab, you may contact Ashlie Robinson at ashlie.robinson@sdsheriff.org.
