Santa Clara County and Silicon Valley’s 15 cities are partnering in a survey of seniors to better serve an aging population. Seeking input on specific needs of older residents is part of a push for the region to become the first “Age-Friendly County” in California recognized by the World Health Organization. As Baby Boomers age, about 28% of the county’s population will reportedly be over 60 by 2030. County officials believe collaboration between the county and its cities will be critical to delivering the future services wanted and needed by residents.
