East County Magazine

East County Magazine is seeking volunteers interested in giving back to the community. There are many options to get involved, including learning journalism skills from the award-winning editor and team. The magazine welcomes retirees from all walks of life. Volunteers can work as little as an hour a week, to as much as desired.

Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Community Reporters (training provided)
  • Radio Show Volunteers (training provided)

  • Researchers
  • Event Planning
  • Booth Assistance at Fairs & Festivals
  • Wildfire and Emergency Alert Volunteers (training provided)
  • Marketing Volunteers

Kroc Family Services Department Assistant

Who: 2 Kroc Center Volunteers

What: Help with weekly filing, phone calls, greeting clients and other tasks as assigned. Some computer experience required. Confidentiality is key. Volunteers must be over the age of 18. We’re sorry but volunteers who are clients of the FRC are not eligible to volunteer within this department.

When: Ongoing - Approximately 5 hours per week. Schedule is flexible between the hours of 8:30am-Noon or 1pm-4pm, Monday-Wednesday preferred.

Where: Kroc Center Administration Building

Why: To assist the Family Services department keep on top of filing forms and weekly tasks.
